"In late June I scheduled my semi-annual HVAC checkup for August 24. Levy was unable to come, so we rescheduled. Despite making about a half dozen unfulfilled appointments since August 24, Levy has yet to provide the service I paid for. The problem, I'm told by uniformly helpful employees, is that my units require a commercial tech, but the agreement does not reflect that fact and non-commercial techs are dispatched. About a half dozen appointments have been scheduled but not fulfilled. Each time it was because the tech was not commercial. One time the tech arrived too late to be admitted despite my specific notice to Levy of building policy. Most recently a tech was scheduled for Thursday 9/9 between noon and 2PM. About 3 PM called and was told I was next and the tech would call me. He did but never showed up. My last conversation was with Becky (?). She was clearly embarrassed and apologetic. She said that she would refund my payment and write a new contract to be service by your commercial side. She told me someone would call. They didn't. I chose Levy because I've lived in Dallas most of my life and know of Levy's long and outstanding reputation. Something isn't right. Below is what I infer from my business experience. I've never interacted in person or by phone with a Levy employee who was unhelpful or unpleasant. Your good frontline people are not being properly served by management. My case is a textbook example of management failure. Employees are making mistakes but they are largely not at fault. Management is failing to provide employees with policies and procedures that discourage error. Instead, your system seems to encourage it; how else to explain the persistence of the same job assignment error time and again. It is axiomatic that ~ 80% of employee errors are not the employee's fault, rather they result from poor systems that are error tolerant. The best systems make it difficult to err. But when errors occur the system detects them early and management corrects the weak spot so that they do not occur again. Sincerely yours, Thomas H. He also informed me that the air ducts going into both units were under-sized based on the power of the unit. I'm a bit frustrated that I wasn't told this when I spent $11k about 18 months ago. I don't know whether that needs to be fixed now or not. It's a bit troubling that the install technicians either didn't check or just didn't bother to tell me."

"The person who came out told me the solution to my problem was a new air conditioner. Of course I was not Im going to do that because thats not what the problem was, and then he started backtracking a bit. In the end he told me I had two things that needed to be replaced for over $1000. I asked him why he told me I needed a new AC if they were repairs that could be done. He didnt really have an answer for that. Ive has the same problem before and knew it needed to be blown out - as it was clogged. He would not do that. When I asked again, he told me it didnt need that, but if he did it would be $300. Once he walked out the door, the other gentleman that was with him closed the door right behind him and stood inside and told me, my son, and my renter that he didnt think it was right that he told me I needed a new AC, but he did think that the repair should be done. I had someone come out the next day who blew out the air conditioner, charged me $95 for the service call and the repair. Good thing I didnt fall for theYou need a new Ac. The other problem we told him about is that one of the rooms upstairs is not getting cool. Your guy said its because I need a new AC. The guy that came out from another company said I bet when I go up there theres a Y duct. He was right. He is going to put in a new duct, add the component so that I can clean out the drain once a year if needed, and blew out the blocked AC all for $345. I am very disappointed that he tried to take advantage of me like that."

"When I made the appointment I noted that the filters and the UV light needed to be changed. I called again the day before the appointment to verify changing the filters and UV light were noted in the appointment and the scheduling person confirmed. When the technician arrived - he said he wasnt aware of the filters or UV light needing to be replaced. He had to check his truck to see if he had filters but did not have a UV bulb so I had to call and schedule a second appointment just for the UV bulb to be replaced. Very frustrating especially since I called the day before to make sure it was noted for the service call."

"I can't figure LEVY out. You are very responsive regarding potential service contract, but your follow up for customer service is astoundingly poor. I simply need a followup phone call from Rueben regarding the service that was provided. What is so hard about that. I chose Levy because you are the primary provider in our condo. I purchased a new HVAC and water heater which you installed in 2020. The skilled labor has been outstanding. ( Most recently, Harold noted the unit was overfilled with Freon from the last service call and I want to know why this happened with the previous Levy contractor.) Under maintenance agreement, we will continue to use LEVY. However, customer service is the one criteria that separates every vendor that I choose, to which I have years of loyalty and that receives my superlative Google and Facebook reviews."

Excavators no-showed for a full day because the plumber didnt schedule them properly and failed to follow up when we informed the office they werent here. One problem (at least) has been misdiagnosed so far - the plumber said it was fixed, and its actually worse, and hes unaware of it because hes waiting for the excavators to be done, and he hasnt called us back despite our repeated requests."

"There is no question in my mind that I was royally cheated on my last service call on June 29. I was in a hurry to make sure all was in good shape for visiting family over the July 4 weekend and didnt really think much about the service call until after they left. My experience has been that every few years my one A/C gets a little low on freon and the coils in the attic will tend to freeze up. It usually takes about 2 lbs. every 2 or 3 years. This year when the coils froze a bit on one particularly cool day a couple of weeks ago, I didnt waste any time calling for service to make sure that there would be no problems during a family visit over the holiday weekend. Prior to the service call, the A/C was cooling pretty much as normally during the 90-degree days we had been having. The last few service calls were by the same technician but this one was someone else and the service process was totally different. This technician didnt perform any checks at all on the coils in the attic as was normal. He just went to adding freon as per what I was expecting based on prior years and the freezing up of the coils. Typically, the tech would weigh the freon container before and after the charging to determine how much freon was used. This year the technician didnt weigh the freon before but after charging just pointed to a number marked on the container for the current weight before charging. After the charging, he weighed the container and said we used five pounds and that now, instead of the $200 per pound in recent years, the price had gone up to $400 a pound. I understand R22 is being phased out but that is really ridiculously high. After the weekend, I really started to question this latest service call. I went and checked the compressor label and it specified a charging amount of 7 pounds. I may not be a trained A/C tech but no system is going to cool anywhere near properly as mine was with 5 out of 7 pounds of freon missing. I also checked the invoice and all it specified was R22 for $2,000. Nowhere did it indicate how much freon was used and how much the charge was per pound. Maybe you should see if this tech has charged for more freon that he actually has in his truck. But if he is not specifying how much freon he is using on the invoices, it is not clear how you can do that and verify he is not overcharging. Is he on commission? He said he would be back the next day between 10 to 12pm. The next day no show between that time. Find out it was moved, without informing me, to between 2 to 4pm. Yet again no show during that time. Call and was told should be here shortly and was running late when I called at 4:30. Was called an hour later and told... he is running behind and no clue if they could make it out today and wanted to reschedule. Told the agent the ongoing issue. Finally made it to where they were still going to come out but no time frame. About 90 mins later the plumber called and apologized to say he would be here in 5 mins and forgot to call ahead of time and he would start looking into the issue. Asked if he knew what the issue was (since a plumber had already been out) and he said no. Told him the issue and about climbing on the roof and was told he didn't have help but it would be no issue since he had done it several times already that day. He was great. I could tell he was exhausted for the long day but he was also confused why the previous plumber could not get on the roof. He took care of it in the end. He was great. I really want to put down a 1 for my entire experience with your company. This multi-visit and change/late for appointment BS has happened 3 times now since we started using your service. The first plumber has even been out here 2 other times for fixes. Overall I am fed up with your service. If I find another service that offers the "wave a trip fee service" I will more than likely change at this point. We are spending over $300 per trip and know due to issues with our pipes that we will more than likely need more visits until we can get them replaced. At 6 or 7 visits now at more than $300 a pop, we are spending quite a bit of money. The stress is not worth it."
