What NATE Certification is and Why it Matters

November 08, 2016

Levy & Son Service Experts in Dallas always tells you about how our team of experts are NATE-certified, and while it sounds reassuring, what does it really mean?

NATE is an abbreviation for North American Technician Excellence and, according to their website, is the nation’s largest certification organization for HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and refrigeration technicians. The organization was developed by and has been supported by the entire HVAC and refrigeration industry but not all people in the industry are required to be certified by NATE. The certification is optional and technicians can service heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment without being certified by NATE.

It’s important to Levy & Son Service Experts that our team is NATE-certified to ensure we are sending the most qualified and professional technicians into your home. To make sure technicians meet these criteria, the NATE-certification assessments validate real-world working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems for technicians. The exams are knowledge-based tests that assess the technician’s knowledge of these standards.

Since Levy & Son Service Experts focuses on the HVAC side of NATE-certification instead of refrigeration, there are only specific areas relevant to our technicians. NATE exam candidates may earn installation and/or service certification in one or more of the talent areas listed below:

  • Air Conditioning
