What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Levy & Son Service Experts is here with some of the most usual air conditioning problems in Dallas.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner working but there isn’t cool air coming out, you might need to have your refrigerant levels analyzed. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Levy & Son Service Experts and we’ll come out and check your refrigerant levels and look into why your air conditioner is not blowing cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

The reason your condenser fan isn’t rotating could be that it merely burned out and you require a replacement. Humidity could cause more condensation so a second problem to watch for is that the water is not draining properly or that the drain is restricted. If you can confirm these issues, you may be able to discover the problem; if not, give Levy & Son Service Experts a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and discuss your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try decreasing the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we overlook the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause huge cooling issues. Another issue that could cause your insufficient cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a frequent issue when homes are constructed. Levy & Son Service Experts will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your air conditioner is short cycling, or turning on or off continuously, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and requires cleaning. Once the unit is cleaned and all blockages removed, you may be all set. Remember that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the desired temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home cool.

No matter your issue, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Levy & Son Service Experts is here for you 24/7/365 so we can get your family comfortable quickly.
