Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

This October, two of our Service Experts centers will be making a statement with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each painting two of their service vans pink for the fight to end breast cancer.

Throughout the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be donating 20% of all sales from their pink vans to the North Jersey Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans in addition to giving $10 for every Precision tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second time Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted two of their vans pink to raise funds for Susan G. Komen. In 2015, Fras-Air was able to raise over $7,000 for Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, General Manager of Fras-Air, and one of his workers both lost their mothers to different forms of cancer and were inspired to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute says that 107,184 women in New Jersey had breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the amount of cases is actually declining each year, that still constitutes a significant number of families who are grappling with this disease, and that means there’s an immediate need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, reiterated Schneider’s sentiments. “According to the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the most prominent type of cancer in the state – for both females and males.”
